Pullout Load Analysis of Reinforced Concrete Anchor Shafts
نویسنده
چکیده مقاله:
In this paper, results obtained in both conventional and finite element analysis of straight and belled anchor shafts subjected to a pullout force are presented. In numerical analysis, it is assumed that no drainage takes place during the anchor pullout. Comparisons between two conventional methods of analysis for ultimate pullout load and the results obtained by the finite element analysis are also presented. The load-deformation and stress-strain responses in the shaft, in the interface between shaft and soil, as well as in the soil are discussed.

Finite Element Analysis of Reinforced Concrete Column Under Lateral Load
To serve its purpose a structure must be safe against collapse and serviceable in use. Serviceability requires that deflections be adequately small to keep the cracks within tolerable limits. Although the widely followed ACI Code suggests a detailed method of deflection calculation, it often cannot exactly perceive the actual behavior of a structure. For this purpose, finite element analysis, u...
متن کاملCalibration of Load and Resistance Factors for Reinforced Concrete
Current approach for designing of reinforced concrete members is based on the load and resistance factor. However the load and resistance parameters are random variables, the constant values have been designated for them in the designing procedure. Assuming these factors as the constants, will be led to the unsafe and uneconomical designs. Safe designing of structures requires appropriate recog...
متن کاملApplication Problems of Anchor Dowels in Reinforced Concrete Shear Wall and Frame Connections
Strengthening of the existing seismically deficient reinforced concrete (RC) buildings is an important issue in earthquake prone regions. Addition of RC shear wall as infill or external walls into the structural system has been a commonly preferred strengthening technique since the Big Erzincan Earthquake occurred in Turkey, 1992. The newly added rigid infill walls act primarily as shear walls ...

متن کاملNumerical Analysis of Punching Shear Failure of Reinforced Concrete Slabs
Nearly no load bearing behaviour of reinforced concrete members allows such varied interpretations and complex discussions as the shear behaviour. Especially the three-dimensional problem of the punching shear failure of reinforced concrete members is internationally discussed. Nevertheless up to now, there is no unified design approach or even an overall accepted design model. Especially for l...
